Evening Campers!
I (Kate) write this post from a tent in the Lake District! Wayne and I are on an adventure to check out Great Tower before we go on Camp next summer.
First, we pitched our tent (with added event shelter for extra rain cover) and got our bedroll sorted.
Next, it was time for a site tour! When you look at the pictures, you will find a sneak peak of the lodge where some people will be sleeping, and the beautiful forest where some people will be camping.
Then we had to test out the fish and chips at Bowness-On-Windermere, where we had our photo taken with Lake Windermere behind. We couldn’t risk soggy chips on camp!
We then made a washing line with some pioneering skills, to dry our towels after a shower.
On the dark walk back from the showers we spotted some sneaky local wildlife, before getting comfy and warm with the classic cotton pyjamas, sleeping bag and blanket combo!
The stargazing is supposed to be amazing here, but unfortunately it’s been cloudy and rainy all day! We have had a fabulous first day and thankfully have dry feet and bodies from our walking boots and waterproof coats – I think I will add waterproof trousers tomorrow as it’s meant to be even rainier!
Hopefully we will get some clear summer skies in 2026 for stargazing!
