Our Squirrels had a fantastic time today learning all about campfires. It was a session filled with new skills and plenty of treats.
Keeping Safe
We started our meeting by talking about fire safety. The Squirrels know that while campfires are fun, they need to be treated with respect.
We learnt how to stay a safe distance from the flames and why we always follow the leaders’ instructions around the fire pit. It is all part of learning skills for life!
Then it was time to get busy. We headed out to collect sticks for our fire. It was a great way for everyone to work together and explore the outdoors.
The best part of the day was definitely the s’mores! We took turns carefully toasting our marshmallows until they were melty and delicious. Then we had a brilliant sing-song together.
After we added a few final sticks to the fire, we headed back inside to burn off some energy. We played some of our all-time favourite games, including Duck, Duck, Goose
It was a brilliant hour of adventure, and we are already looking forward to our next meeting.
