This week the squirrels tackled their Navigator Staged Activity Badge.
🗺️ Map Spotting
We kicked off the session by looking at a map. We looked together at a map to where our Scout Hut is located. We then looked at different map symbols, learning how to identify key features like roads, ponds, and buildings.
Next we had to draw a simple map of the area surrounding the Scout Hut.
We then played a special navigational game of Four Corners. The walls became North, South, East, and West. The Squirrels did a brilliant job memorising the four main compass points, sprinting to a compass point. !
Our next game was mountains and quarries. Racing around to get the most points for our teams.
We wrapped up the session with we ran a fast-paced “What Go Pack” relay race. The team loved racing across the hall, burning off some serious energy while practicing their listening skills and teamwork
